Let Your Checks Put A Smile On Your Face

I wasn’t a big fan of personalized checks until a year ago.  While I’ve had some Disney checks and other similarly-designed instruments issued my way, I always found them a bit cheesy, if not inappropriate.

My wife, however, began to develop an affinity for them.  In fact, she ordered several booklets worth of checks with flowers, birds and various other “girly” stuff as its main design.  When they arrived at our house, I looked at her with the same quizzical expression I gave to people who issued their designer checks to me.  She just giggled and went about her merry way.

That same night, I got about 10 booklets of checks stacked on my desk at home.  Horror of horrors – the wife got some for me too!  I cringed at the thought at what she had emblazoned on actual financial instruments with my name on it, so I opened it cautiously.

I was expecting something lame that will make me the butt of jokes, like a Barbie or bunnies or another similar design.  To my surprise, though, it had a print of one of my favorite paintings – the same one we have hanging in our living room.  It’s the same painting that makes me smile every time I take a look at it and it was now in my checks.

That’s when I realized how great of an idea personalized designer checks are – they can literally make you smile every time you issue a payment.  Since then, I’ve been ordering the same designs every time I run out of checks.  Of course, I ordered the same design on a personalized checkbook cover!
